Microsurgery Fellowship Program

UCSF's microsurgery fellowship offers a year of training in microsurgical reconstruction with room for fellows to follow their own interests. The case mix includes a busy gender-surgery practice, microsurgical breast reconstruction, orthopaedic oncology and trauma reconstruction, optional head and neck work and an interdisciplinary upper extremity nerve practice.

Location
San Francisco, California, United States
Duration
One year, running from the start of August to the end of July
Clinical participation
Fellows attend all free flap cases within the plastic surgery group, take six weekends of attending-level call with a senior attending as back-up, and attend clinic one day a week when this does not clash with theatre
International applicants
The programme cannot sponsor visas; applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents who qualify for a full, unrestricted California medical licence
Funding
Salary is set at the PGY-6 level and includes a housing allowance (the page quotes a 2020-21 total of $88,505.68 and says scales are posted yearly); health and life insurance are provided and the programme pays for the fellow to attend ASRM
